Leading up to the Ironman I was so ready and excited I'm sure you could all tell... πŸ˜‰πŸ˜œ

The morning was perfect walked down to transition felt my tires (thank you Less) placed my water bottles in, and then checked my bags. Everything was perfect

Found Les and his family in line to wait for our amazing swim to start, we were inline about an hour and a half before the start. Finally it was go time, I still didn't know what pair of goggles I was going to wear then, I had to go with the MP ones😜.. Dive off the dock and started swimmmmmmming, I felt amazing we swam to the last buoy as I was turning around the big red buoy, someone grabbed my leg pulled me under "WTF" I thought; then I got pissed so I stayed with him, he was a faster swimmer but there was no way I was going to let him go; I was going to give him a piece of my mind... so as we were coming into the finish I get kicked in the googles so hard the goggles stuck to my face harder... lol as we're coming on to the step there he is "I DID give him an ear full" and I was NOT nice about it... 😠

As we came out I laid down on the ground for the wetsuit volunteers to pull off my wetsuit I see Brett Favre I'm thinking NO way.... I grab my wetsuit and start running, as I ran into the tent NO volunteer was there to help me "OH NO" so I pored everything out and start getting dressed (wet) that took forever (I had to wear long sleeves try and warm up I was freezing my heart rate was way to low) so I couldn't skip out on anything......UUUGH!

As I get on my bike I set my clock and I'm thinking get in before 6:07 (Hours) well first lope went awesome. I totally forgot how hilly the course was my second loop "oh crap" I get a flat tire NOoooooooooo! Ok off my bike start to take everything apart (telling myself stay in control, stay in control) I had so many riders ask me if I needed help that was soooo awesome! Back on "Thunder" my bike road awesome until the last big hill I changed gears to fast my chain falls off, jumped off the bike put it on clip in one side jump on start peddling. I remember telling myself don't look at your time until 100 miles. When I did I thought shooooot pick it up... oh yeah then the cramping started even more; I will say eating candy corn and opening salt tablets helped a ton. As I got off the bike thankfully an amazing volunteer came over and said can I help you?? "Heck yes please"... the best part the volunteer said do you want these shorts I said nope I need the "Fastpants" she laughed ok... I came running out the tent, all I kept thinking is get IPB my lower abs are on fire... IBP in run/walk like heck PR or ER... let's do this!

First mile just get those legs back, mile two ok bathroom stop mile 3 ok "baby jog" walk your Achilles are sending you sweet "warning"... so that was the rest of the marathon on off with walking heal toe/jogging pushing it with what I could but in my mind thinking PR..PR. ☠️Not ERπŸ’‰ GO.GO....

When I was finishing I kept thinking keep it together don't get emotional, then I hear Landen Go Mom Go as he's running on the outside of the gated area...

I watch the guys finish their race as I came in and I did my IRONMAN Sunshinestar the announcer said "WHAT is Danniela doing that's awesome!" Everyone else was like how do you have the energy to do that and get back up? I said that's my Ironman SunshineStar I've been waiting along time to that... πŸ˜‰☀️

Today I feel like a million bucks "I'm so ready to do another one that WAS SO FUN!" ☀️

"Bigger Goals Next Time!" πŸŠπŸ»πŸš΄πŸ»πŸ‘ŸπŸ’ͺ🏻☠️

My slow run!!!!

Finished training some amazing athletes this AM; run home for my first run and this is the amazing beauty I'm so blessed to see/run in.. Never take anything for granted; and always see the beauty in "everything!" ##ironmantraining #ironman #mommyintrainjng #beauty #coach #hysterectomyrecovery #slowisgood

My pace is about 10:30-11:00 per mile!! When am I going to see 7:30-8:00 again??

So today I'm on my long run and thinking OMG when am I going to see that pace I used to run. Then telling myself come on give yourself a break your only in the start of the 3rd week of getting "your" fitness back.....KEEP going! Then this happens a sweet butterfly lands on my arm I instantly think of the saying "How does one become a butterfly? You must "want" to fly so much you are willing to give up being a caterpillar." ☀️ #lifesmoments #running #ironmanlouisville #ironmantri #hysterectomyrecovery #strongerthenyouthink #butterfly #nevergiveup #nevergivein

Slow ride however, I can still ride fast down.....

When You get new tires on your bike and the speed limit says 55 you want to make sure you stay right under the speed limit.... #noticketsonyourbike #ridedownhill #downhillbiking #training #ironman #ironmantraining

Getting in that pool......

Nothing like having a little fun before my Swimmmmmmm!! 🏊☠🏊☠🏊☠🏊#ironmantraining #pooltomyself #training #swimming #mp #mpgoggles #swimcap #ironmantri #ironmanlouisville #getthispartystarted

First slow run!

I'm so blessed to be able to do the things I can do today was a nice "baby jogging to the sun!" However, I will say it's so hard to be back into shape or to be where I was.....☀️πŸ‘Ÿ #buildingendurance #sunrise #onedayatatime #hysterectomyrecovery #ironmantraining #trainwithwhatyouhave #ironmanlouisville #strongerthenyouthink #justdoit ##determinedathlete

August 13 almost 6 weeks post recovery and I ride 68 miles

Today was spectacular in so many ways!
Building my endurance back is soooooooooo tough I can't believe it.....However, riding with Greg LeMond, Amanda Manock and so many other amazing Athletes helped me ton today!! Always remember "You are Stronger then you think" and JUST GO DO IT! #greglamond #training #buildingendurance #hematomarecovery #ironman #determinedathlete #ironmanlouisville #strongerthenyouthink #justdoit
The struggle is real!
Yes I know I've been off from running for 5 weeks 5 days and about two weeks ago I could hardly even walk to the kitchen. Yes I know I had major surgery. Yes I know it takes time. Yes I know I'm stubborn! I'm telling all of you this because we're all human.
8/9/16 Bluff Run~My first 5 miles was at my pace yes I will 100% admit I was soooooooo P off that I couldn't get my time up the bluff like I have the past few years, my heart rate was sky high, I was ready to puke, my body was shaking and I was PISSED off! However, on my second time up I went slower and gave it all I had with my sister  Bethanne Frydenlund my HR was still 170-180; she asked me "Danni you ok" I said "Yes" thankfully you know CPR and you know how to call 911 so I'm safe! There was no way I was going to quit.
I'm telling you this because if you take a week, two or however long of from your fitness have the #courage to go back and do the best you can with what you have! Yes it's going to be hard, yes you may feel like you can't do it anymore, yes your going to struggle, yes you might cry however, "Stay consistent and never , NEVER give up!"
 #nevergiveup #training #training #dowhatyoucanwithwhatyouhave #ironmanlouisville #trainingmommy #determinedathlete #ironman #hematomarecovery #running #blessed
Before surgery PR -21:05
5.5 weeks off from running 27:09
Never Give up!
Nothing like 91 out!
Thank gosh done!!

Back on my bike

Yep another hematoma was starting again in my lower abs; so yesterday had my 3rd procedure releasing blood from it.... That took me out of what I was going to do today, so I'll settle for a nice easy Sunday ride working on my biking legs and heart rate while watching IM Kona and tracking Les Welch at IMB.. Thank goodness for Zoots Cycling shorts they have a wide belly band or I wouldn't be able to ride shooting for 4 hours today...

Tuesday, August 02, 2016

Feeling like a million bucks today as I went into the doctor. He says "wow your getting around really good, what have you been doing? "I said "I've been working out"... πŸ˜‰
He said everything looks great you can "baby jog" (but take it easy) so I did, my sister and I baby jogged up the bluff. Thank Goodness for belly braces or I wouldn't be able to run or pull this off... "Starting to feel like me again!" Always remember your stronger then you think! Thank you Bethanne Frydenlund for "baby jogging" with me πŸ’— u...... And thank you for taking the photo!!! ☀️πŸ˜‰πŸ’ͺ#strongerthenyouthink #hematomarecovery #ironmommyintraining #determinedathlete #ironmanlouisville #ironmantraining #shine #sunshine #hysterectomyrecovery #runtothesun

First swim back

Ok I will admit I was a little nervous about this, it's only been 4 weeks 3 days from my hysterectomy  and 3 weeks from my hematoma procedure however, when you have a passion for something there is no excuses and when you roll with your instincts you see how it goes..  My first 25 yards was like ok don't stretch out to much, watch the pull and DO NOT rotate in the hips to much; all the sudden with those thoughts in my head I look at my watch and see 1700 yards; I felt amazing, so I went to 2500 nice and easy. I stopped a couple times to stretch out and then back at it..
My incision looks great I'm pretty sure it's closed (well it better be)..  I can sneeze now with out feeling like I'm Going to pass out I don't move as fast as I did yet but it will come one day at a time...

"Respond to every call that excites your soul" listen to every whisper that awakes your hear, follow every opportunity that creates wonder and energy within you. You never know exactly where life will lead you so take every moment and enjoy, follow the gut instinct that tells you to give something a shot and allow the wonder of what's to come. ☀️

4 weeks post surgery

Today is 4 weeks post recovery from my hysterectomy/3 weeks from my hematoma; I have to say it feels amazing to get up at 4:00-4:15 AM to go work on my fitness goals as much as I can, but then to top it off nothing like adding more hours to my life in so many ways. #gettingbacktome #training #ironmantraining #slowisok #noexcuses #dowhatyoucanwithwhatyouhave #mommyintraining #ironmanlouisville #onedayatatime ☀️πŸ˜‰πŸŠπŸš΄πŸ‘ŸπŸ’•πŸ’ͺ

Fearless......

Fearlessness is about getting up one more time than we fall down. The more comfortable we are with the possibility of falling down, the more fearless we will be, and the easier our journey will become. Without fear, we can’t have courage. πŸ˜‰☀️ I love my bracelet..

"Back in the saddle again!"

Today woke up at 4:15 I couldn't wait to get to my Studio and ride. I got on the bike and and yikes as soon as I stood up, I couldn't believe the feeling OUCHY! So stayed seated my heart rate was crazy I haven't seen 156 on my bike for awhile (well for what I was doing). I rode and did TRX with my athletes. I have to say the TRX will for sure help me get back to where I need to be for IRONMAN KY..
Cycling 1:35
TRX Training 24 min.
Finished my evening with my Plank whoooooo held just a little bit longer then last time. I can't believe how hard it is.... It almost makes ya want to cry however, knowing I will get stronger and stronger everyday.. There's no need for tears only strength!

Saturday, July 23, 2016

Now that I can get down on the ground... "SLOWLY" I thought ok let's see how long I can hold a low plank.... "Yep, you can do anything for 30 sec.'s!" It's a start, everyday is better and better; looking at being that butterfly! πŸ˜‰☀️
How does one become a butterfly? You must "want" to fly so much you are willing to give up being a caterpillar. ☀️
