My why

Project 9:30 is my big goal for this year.

☀️
Last year, I completed the Fall 50—50 miles in 9 hours and 47 minutes. This year, I’m going back with some unfinished business: break 9 hours and 30 minutes.
But somewhere along the way, Project 9:30 became about so much more than a number on a clock.
Last year, I ran those miles for my daughter-in-law, Jennah, as she faced multiple cancer diagnoses and continued fighting through treatment. I carried names with me—people fighting cancer, survivors, people we’ve lost, and families whose lives have forever been changed by it.
This year, I want to carry even more. ❤️
Every name on my back represents a person. Every person has a story.
And every story deserves to be remembered.
At 53, after my own battles with cancer and living without a thyroid, part of this journey is also about continuing to ask myself:
What is still possible?
Maybe 9:30 happens. Maybe race day has other plans. But I know what I can control—the work I put in, the purpose I carry, and the people I choose to honor along the way.
This weekend was another reminder that finish times and medals will never be the most important part of this journey. People are.
So yes, I’m chasing 9:30.
But when I stand at that starting line in October, I won’t be standing there alone.
Every mile will carry a name.
Every name will carry a story.
And every step will have a reason much bigger than the clock. ☀️šŸƒ‍♀️❤️
