Ironman WI 2017 Report

Fast and short race report...
What a priceless, priceless Ironman!
In the morning our group was all together we stayed together Christina Flisram, Amy L. Becker-Bloss, Amanda Manock, Bethanne GetMovin and Tim Welke until we got into the waves starts then we lost Tim it got a little crazy! As we all were in our wave correl a little sweet prayer was said then off to the water. I give my sister a huge hug told her I love her, stay in control, positive, I'll see you soon.. As we get into the water I'm watching her thinking ok I'll stay with her as much as I can "that's just the momma big sister on me" I tried for a bit and then noticed that wasn't going to work, so off I went. I have to say that swim was awesome, the only part I didn't like was coming back in that was a little hectic to be nice lol...Ran up the helix, volunteer Grabbed my bag and man oh man putting #fastpants on wet lol is not so fun..
Bike- I think I just love bumpy roads "NOT" I felt great on the bike a few close calls other bikers almost running into me, a few drop of the chain, seat dropped down, my front break went out (but who needs those right😉) and my right shoe clip broke... BYW that Barlow hill was so fun "wait along with all the other hills"..Riding back up the Helix was awesome, I see my Stepdad Robert Hansen and Mom Vicki Hansen yelling for me at the top it's just so awesome seeing their faces I love you too thank you, thank you for always being there always!
Then an amazing volunteer grabs Thumper (my bike) and off I go to changing room, as  come running out Tina W. run up and says "Beth is out of the water and on her bike doing great!" Thank god I'm thinking as I getting choked up.. off to run I'm feeling good, then I hear my sister is almost off her bike, I slow down my run to a fast walk, I'm thinking if she's close we can connect up, well she was out a bit more then what the IM site was saying.
I hear she's off her bike, I'm at almost 11/12 miles I'm thinking ok I'll walk it until she's gets to me, I see her she fricken looks awesome! I said Beth keep that pace you'll catch me I'll slow down mine. Well as normal the miles become longer, I was told that's she's far out and you would have to wait 2 plus hours or so for her; it had nothing to do with her time because my sister was doing amazing, it had to do with the decision I had to make, so I instantly got emotional😭😓 and started thinking crap, crap if I sit down and wait yikes that would kill me, so I had to make the decision to finish it and wait for her right at the finish line. I then I picked it up "baby jog it in" I'm sure all of you know when you fast walk and go to a jog lol oh your muscles feel spectacular.😜 The greatest part on this walk/run was I seen all of my amazing athletes out there, they have no idea how much they inspire me in so many, many ways.
I finish I see my Mom and Step Dad yelling,  then I come into the finish I ask them go give me my metal my mom and Step dad are going to medal me. Then I see Dawn Mihalovic-Bayer she had no idea what she did when she gave me that hug my ❤️was just filled with so much, I wanted to finish with my sister, and couldn't but then on the other hand I instantly thought what Mike Reilly said to me "Your sister needs to do this herself", wait for her and medal her after I call her name; he was right I did need her to finish it and truly see how fricken tough she is!
So that's what I did I waited and seen her come across that finish line and stood right in the middle so she could see me tears of joy came running down our faces I was able to metal her, gave her a huge hug and congratulated her. I'm so fricken proud of her there's not enough words to describe it....
I love you BETHANNE, YOU ARE an IRONMAN! Ok now when's the next one?? 😜
A huge thank you to everyone who came out and cheered all of us all on! To my sista Mariea Howell thank you, thank you for everything, posting updates, photos, yada, yada you are always right on it, love you sunshine!

Ironman Boulder 2017

Ironman Boulder race 2017🏊‍♀️🚴‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️☠️
🚗Drive down- what a great time with Tracy we've been friends since high school catching up on so much and playing I spy with my brother and his family as they were on their way to Colorado to, that was so much fun!!
Friday we went down to the Ironman Village walked around, checked in, athlete meeting and drove the bike course.
Saturday morning, drop off bike, did a small open water swim and walked made it an "easy day."
Went and met up with my Family yada, yada....
Race morning...
Started out the morning at about 2:30 I just couldn't sleep, woke everyone up at 3:30 then my brother Rays calling me "you ready I'm standing out side waiting for you lol!" 😂My next call Bethanne GetMovin "how ya doing you ready?" Me as ready as I'll ever be... ok I love ya talk to ya after the race.. 💜
Next I tried to eat a banana and peanut butter trying to keep my head on straight..
We leave the hotel get everyone picked up get down to the shuttles, dropped of bags and off on the bus and oh what a bus ride it was..
🏊‍♀️Started walking down to the swim start gave hugs, called my hubby told him I love him, did a quick plank star and off I went. I talked to so many athletes it was so calm and relaxing as we were all getting into line. I jumped into the water it was cold "not as bad as Alcatraz but cold" all the sudden I couldn't believe how I felt like I just couldn't get in the oxygen and it's not that feeling of pressure against your body from your wetsuit. So I had to keep my mind busy, so I thought about every person I tagged in the post that morning each time I went my a bouy that was theirs, got half way my calfs were cramping yikes, yikes "just keep swimming," you swam into people, people swam into you, you were never alone lots of boats, paddle boards, kayaks lots of support.
Came around the last corner here comes the waves 🌊 wowza... as I was coming in I'm thinking that had to be a longer swim had to be. As I see today it was 4439 yard swim. I knew it...
Run up the boat landing they pulled off my wet suit got up grabbed my swim to bike bag ran into the tent! Thank gosh I had I volunteer she helped me big time!!
Ran out get to that bike ran passed it back tracked grabbed it and off I went time to crush it!
🚴‍♀️-For all of my Ironman Bike each 20 miles is for my kids, granddaughter and Husband the last 14 for my family.
20- Tyler/Nova
20- Landen
20-Korbin
20- Elsie
20- Blane
14 miles is for my family and finish strong! I always think to myself "Don't back off if your tire pops your running it in."
My heart rate was crazy 184 to be exact, I couldn't get it down take deep breaths, take deep breaths then came around the corner looking at the mountains and wow it didn't look like you were going up hill but you were and then rocking out an amazing headache time to sing to myself Thunder, Thunder Struck let's go... The bike was hard, I stopped two times I just couldn't pee on my bike I just couldn't.. again it felt as if you were wearing a mask just less oxygen, I went through 6-8 bottles of hydration on the bike, salt tablets like crazy, champs and bananas. I always looked forward to seeing my Brother, Tracy, Bob, Victoria, and my Mom (I blew her a kiss each round) of the bike..
The volunteers were priceless!
As we were coming into town we were on the bike path what a disaster that's an I understatement, then coming into town that was worst!!!!
All I kept thinking get off this bike....
114 miles

🏃🏻‍♀️The Run was hot no air movement!
running in from my bike to the run another volunteer grabbed my bag and said can I help you? Me yes please, I asked for IBP I was a hurting unit, headache, ready to puke, dizzy yada, yada the volunteer said would you like a medic I can get one for you, you don't look that good... lol I said No I always look like this.....I'll try and run it off out I went mmmmmmm run it off hell no I couldn't run got to mile 4 yep puking, dizzy seeing awesome little stars✨ a medic came over can I help you? What's going on? I just said can I get IBP he said NO I can't, I can get you water... I started thinking get to the salt guys "now" so I walked as hard as I can to get there as soon as I did I some and that helped on off baby jogging, walking baby jogging walking just keep one foot in front of the other. I kept taking in Cola then pretzels, water and then at Mile 10 we could get our bags mmmm "heck yes", I have IBP in my bag took it thank gosh it helped out some.  I have to say seeing Tracy and my Brother the first loop was priceless, I could see on my brothers face a little bit of fear Danni you ok? Yep I am see you soon! I fricken could only baby jog 100 steps so I would baby jogged 100 steps and walked 100 steps that's all I could do so on and off counting to 100 run/walking.
Second loop I see my Tracy, Mom, Bob, Annette, Caleb, and Lil ☀️Niomi it was priceless!
As I was "power walking" Athletes kept saying "what the heck your determined and on a mission" mmmmmm heck yes to get this done and I have my "Shopping" shoes on lol!
😂
Each time I kept thinking your heart rate is at 130 you can run, as soon as I would start my legs were like "nope" and to try to breath NOPE! Then plan B "Frickin walk as fast as you can and get in under 13 hours."
I was so excited to look at my watch and see I was going to come in on time under 13 hours, the guy who ran in before me said if you sprint in I might have troubles, I said Sunshine go if I sprint I'll pass out and I have to get to that finish line to do my Sunshineplankstar so yada, yada!! 😉 Now to recover and off to the next one, I can't wait! 😜☠️
I want to thank my amazing husband Blane Neher, Tracy Washington, MomVicki Hansen, Robert Hansen, Raymond Howell, Annette Cullum Howell, Caleb, Lil☀️Niomi, Kathy, Nick, to everyone who text, sent FB messages, called me and all of you for supporting and cheering me on! I'm so blessed in so many ways I love you all more then you'll ever know!💚💗
Now this was written in the car fast so I'll read it again later for spelling yada, yada..😜

T1-9:18

🚴🏻Bike 5:51:32

Finishing Time 12:03:23

Leading up to the Ironman I was so ready and excited I'm sure you could all tell... 😉😜

The morning was perfect walked down to transition felt my tires (thank you Less) placed my water bottles in, and then checked my bags. Everything was perfect

Found Les and his family in line to wait for our amazing swim to start, we were inline about an hour and a half before the start. Finally it was go time, I still didn't know what pair of goggles I was going to wear then, I had to go with the MP ones😜.. Dive off the dock and started swimmmmmmming, I felt amazing we swam to the last buoy as I was turning around the big red buoy, someone grabbed my leg pulled me under "WTF" I thought; then I got pissed so I stayed with him, he was a faster swimmer but there was no way I was going to let him go; I was going to give him a piece of my mind... so as we were coming into the finish I get kicked in the googles so hard the goggles stuck to my face harder... lol as we're coming on to the step there he is "I DID give him an ear full" and I was NOT nice about it... 😠

As we came out I laid down on the ground for the wetsuit volunteers to pull off my wetsuit I see Brett Favre I'm thinking NO way.... I grab my wetsuit and start running, as I ran into the tent NO volunteer was there to help me "OH NO" so I pored everything out and start getting dressed (wet) that took forever (I had to wear long sleeves try and warm up I was freezing my heart rate was way to low) so I couldn't skip out on anything......UUUGH!

As I get on my bike I set my clock and I'm thinking get in before 6:07 (Hours) well first lope went awesome. I totally forgot how hilly the course was my second loop "oh crap" I get a flat tire NOoooooooooo! Ok off my bike start to take everything apart (telling myself stay in control, stay in control) I had so many riders ask me if I needed help that was soooo awesome! Back on "Thunder" my bike road awesome until the last big hill I changed gears to fast my chain falls off, jumped off the bike put it on clip in one side jump on start peddling. I remember telling myself don't look at your time until 100 miles. When I did I thought shooooot pick it up... oh yeah then the cramping started even more; I will say eating candy corn and opening salt tablets helped a ton. As I got off the bike thankfully an amazing volunteer came over and said can I help you?? "Heck yes please"... the best part the volunteer said do you want these shorts I said nope I need the "Fastpants" she laughed ok... I came running out the tent, all I kept thinking is get IPB my lower abs are on fire... IBP in run/walk like heck PR or ER... let's do this!

First mile just get those legs back, mile two ok bathroom stop mile 3 ok "baby jog" walk your Achilles are sending you sweet "warning"... so that was the rest of the marathon on off with walking heal toe/jogging pushing it with what I could but in my mind thinking PR..PR. ☠️Not ER💉 GO.GO....

When I was finishing I kept thinking keep it together don't get emotional, then I hear Landen Go Mom Go as he's running on the outside of the gated area...

I watch the guys finish their race as I came in and I did my IRONMAN Sunshinestar the announcer said "WHAT is Danniela doing that's awesome!" Everyone else was like how do you have the energy to do that and get back up? I said that's my Ironman SunshineStar I've been waiting along time to that... 😉☀️

Today I feel like a million bucks "I'm so ready to do another one that WAS SO FUN!" ☀️

"Bigger Goals Next Time!" 🏊🏻🚴🏻👟💪🏻☠️
